While the U.S. may consume the lion’s share of the world’s resources, at least it’s doing so in a cleaner manner. According to a report published in USA Today, the U.S. government announced earlier this week that national emissions of greenhouses gases reached their lowest levels since 1994.
The U.S. Energy Information Administration cited warmer winters, the increased consumption of natural gas and decreased use of coal along with improved efficiency as factors responsible for the drop. However even with the U.S.’s recent headway, emissions globally continue to increase.
