Window on Infinity: Pictures From Space
NASA
One of the first views from NASA's Curiosity rover, through a fisheye wide-angle lens, captures Mount Sharp, which the rover will ultimately explore up close. This image was taken with what's known as a hazcamāor hazard avoidance camera, used for scouting terrain and planning traveling routes. The rover is equipped with color cameras as well, which capture far more dramatic images.
